The series is about the human condition and urban life. It is a photographic journey inside lives of the city, taking its primary inspiration from Georg Simmel's work 'The Metropolis'. Literature, especially novels by South American writers, have also influenced this project and the way I photograph urban landscapes and domestic spaces.
The project focuses strongly on architectural forms, shapes, color, and decorative items, which are distinctively floral and/or geometric. It also brings together natural forms and human-built forms: human bodies - dressed and nude - and natural landscapes are interspersed with architecture, design and fashion items. There is also a strong focus on the passing of time and on the importance of memory, issues to which I constantly return.
Photographs in this series are shot with iphone, film, and DSLR.
Locations include Athens, Greece; Berlin, Germany; and London, UK.
