Afrostreets is a tribute to the great Malian photographers, even though the photographs are not from Mali alone. Seydou Keita and Malick Sidibe shaped who I am as a photographer, and living in parts of Africa for brief (and a few longer) periods of time between 2007 and 2014 shaped who I am as a person.
Looking at these photos from an anthropological point of view, I realize that this project is also about the relationship between the 'white photographer' and the 'black subject'.
Photographs in this series are shot with DSLR. Locations: Mali, Niger, DR Congo, and Ethiopia.
